Just like everything these days we are seeing more and more manufacturers coming onto the scene and vying that their product is better and a better value than the competition. We see more or less cleats and different cleat patterns as well as the introduction of newer lighter and stronger materials used by manufacturers in order to make the best baseball cleats on the market. Some cleat designs incorporate different materials as well as the ability to change the cleats themselves from different materials. The fact of the matter is that it all comes down to personal taste and it is important to not be drawn in by the looks or advertising of these baseball cleats as not much changes in them from year to year. In the history of baseball cleats we have seen little overall change in the design yet the materials have gone from leather to synthetic and metal to plastic in most cases. Not until we see a great deal of carbon fiber being used will there be much of a change in the design characteristics of the baseball cleats. We will continue to see baseball cleats dropping grams of weight as well as utilizing different designs but all in all we will continue to see more hype and marketing strategies than anything else. So look for there to be a continual sponsorship from the Jeters in baseball and there will continue to be a following of individuals who think that the latest baseball cleats will help their game.
